Artist Description of Work:
A charcoal drawing on wood panel from a series of works I created titled "Memoria", these works explore the idea of layered memories from the materials themselves to the image. The drawing use reimagined childhood memories to explore themes of nostalgia, identity and reality. The piece titled "Ventana", depicts the window of an old building in the rural forests outside of Quito being swallowed by the natural vegetation. As this old forgotten place withers and rots away, eventually becoming part of the forest.
