Artist Description of Work:
In this piece, a butterfly represents a woman's transformation over time and her willingness to adapt, grow, reflect, evolve and learn about herself. Woven and embroidered elements represent legacies a woman carries throughout her lifetime - she must decide to continue the pattern that is so deeply a part of her or to set it loose if it no longer serves her.
