In This Together

Year: 2020
Dimensions: 22x28
Medium: Acrylic, ink, newspaper, resin on canvas

Artist Description of Work:
In This Together reflects the turbulent political and social climate surrounding the early COVID-19 pandemic and the 2020 presidential election. Created during the artist’s initial experimentation with resin, the work incorporates layers of acrylic, ink, and newspaper, including the phrase that gives the painting its title. By integrating fragments of contemporary media, Clancy examines the relationship between collective experience, historical documentation, and the competing narratives through which events are understood. The work invites reflection on the media’s dual role as both a record of history and a powerful influence on public perception.
