Artist Description of Work:
In the After evolved through numerous iterations, accumulating texture, color, language, and gesture as earlier versions were repeatedly transformed. At one stage, the title was written across the canvas, only to be obscured beneath subsequent layers. Though no longer legible, the words remain embedded within the work. The finished surface evokes the restless architecture of the mind, memories, thoughts, and fragments competing, overlapping, and disappearing into one another. Here, the “after” is not a fixed conclusion, but an ongoing state of transformation: what remains after something changes, and the traces carried forward into whatever comes next. Framed
