Artist Description of Work:
In Search of Truth examines the human compulsion to seek certainty in a world of competing perceptions. Across the canvas, TRUTH is written again and again—asserted, obscured, overwritten, fragmented and rediscovered. With every repetition, the word becomes simultaneously more present and less knowable. The work draws from the Sanskrit concept of avidyā—ignorance or misperception that obscures our ability to perceive reality clearly—and places that idea in conversation with the existential questions found in writers such as Dostoevsky and Camus. What happens when the mind’s relentless desire for certainty encounters a reality that refuses to offer a single, uncomplicated answer?
