Artist Description of Work:
Hoi An Bouquet, 2019. Made entirely of upcycled mixed materials.Three dimensional fiber art piece based on native plants. Can be hung with a single nail or hook. This piece was made for the solo show, Have You Reckoned The Earth Much, at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. This work is of a customary bouquet of wildflowers to celebrate and offer to ancestors common in the town of Hoi An, Vietnam. Pangea spent a year in Hoi An as head designer for a fashion brand and this bouquet fiber piece is a work she conceptualized to serve as embellishment for couture gowns. The piece elaborated into a hung fiber work in 2020.
