Artist Description of Work:
Head Off the Snake is a politically charged work created during the heightened tensions of 2020. Bold hot pinks and blacks collide with layered newspaper fragments, including the phrase that inspired the painting’s title. The composition captures the urgency, polarization, and uncertainty of a period marked by competing political narratives and widespread social unrest. Through its confrontational palette and fragmented visual language, the work reflects the emotional intensity of the moment while questioning the forces that shape collective understanding.
