Artist Description of Work:
Patience, Young Grasshopper is part of my 2025 Wildflowers series, which centers on looser, more instinctive compositions—bouquets and gardens that feel like they grew on their own, without permission or plan.
This piece speaks to the strength found in stillness. It reflects the tension between waiting and becoming—an idea I return to often in my work. The kind of patience that isn't passive, but quietly powerful.
I’m drawn to the metaphor of wildflowers: resilient forms that emerge in unlikely places and thrive regardless of whether they were intended to. This painting mirrors that same spirit—of women who trust their timing, honor their intuition, and grow on their own terms.
The title holds a wink—but also a truth: that sometimes, becoming who you're meant to be requires holding still long enough to hear yourself.
