Artist Description of Work:
Leaf, from the Embedded Series. In this series, the word 'embedded' refers to having a sense of place. It is the feeling of belonging to or being deeply rooted in the land or society, of having a context. These self-portraits reveal how the elements of the environment have become incorporated into my body and into my identity, my sense of self. In this image, I am hiding, cloaked by a fallen leaf.
