Collection: Elaine Defibaugh

Elaine Defibaugh is a multidisciplinary artist whose mixed media works bridge personal memory science and material experimentation. Born in Texas she earned a BFA from Texas A&M Commerce and an MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology, and now lives in Miami, FL. Her interest in storytelling and ecology led her from printmaking to sculptural collage using found materials. She layers paper fabric and pigment to build luminous textured surfaces that explore memory and the environment. Her work has appeared at the Frost Museum of Science and the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, and she twice won the Pollock Krasner Grant. She continues to explore ecological themes in new mixed media works, and collectors value her art for its emotional resonance and material depth.
