Collection: Alex Wexler

Alex Wexler
Alex Wexler is a printmaker based in Miami whose Gyotaku work highlights the unique forms of marine life. Originally from New Jersey, he studied Marine Biology at the University of Miami and earned a degree in Fine Art and Creative Writing. In 2015 he discovered Gyotaku and made it his signature technique. He ethically harvests and prints fish on paper and consumes the specimens afterward to emphasize sustainability. His prints have been featured in regional exhibitions and environmental showcases. He lives near Coconut Grove and balances his studio practice with his role as Creative Director at GlueIQ in Coral Gables. Collectors appreciate the visual impact of his prints and the story they tell about the bond between humanity and nature.
