Melanie Oliva

Melanie Oliva is a Miami-based visual artist whose work champions environmental and social justice. Formerly an award-winning Creative Director in Chicago, she uses her conceptual skills to advocate for South Florida flora and fauna. She began her After-image Series to symbolize environmental urgency using Miami’s fleeting light as a metaphor for the planet’s fragile state. She works in painting, collaborative activations and community projects to explore ecological consciousness. She has shown work at The Frank Gallery and TAG Gallery and was awarded an Individual Artist Grant by Miami-Dade in 2023 and an Oolite Arts Ellies Creator Award in 2025. Collectors value her work for its visual impact, emotional depth and its call to protect the environment.
