Coffee Conversations with Creators: Featuring Emily Peters
Share
Join us in the gallery for Coffee Conversations with Creators featuring artist Emily Peters. From 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, Emily will share insight into her practice and lead a hands-on skill share in unconventional metal wire techniques for sculpture. We will begin with a short somatic free movement warm-up to open ourselves up before creating together.
Emily Peters, EiY, is a fiber, metal, and sound artist whose sculptural textiles and soundscapes interweave sustainability and spiritual inquiry. Originally from Minnesota, she studied Clothing Design and Fine Art at the University of Minnesota and has lived in Miami for nearly twenty years. Her process emerges from ecological research and a lifelong study of vibration and voice, using non-toxic methods and found materials like industrial textile waste and sustainably sourced metals. She pairs tactile forms with voice, guitar, mandolin, and field recordings to build meditative sound environments inspired by natural systems and ancestral healing. Working under the name EiY, she develops immersive series that collectors value for their ethical materiality and quiet transformation.
